As I'm sure everyone can understand this week has been pretty busy for me, so apologies for not following my normal blogging structure... Let's run through what's happened... Sponsorship announcements, release date booked, final testing etc...
Woah, let me take a breath for a minute and cover some of what's been happening, starting with the release date. So barring a delay with my Apple approval The Boxing Promoter will be released on Monday 21st August, just in time for the MayMac build up. I'm so happy to finally be at this stage, I honestly can't wait for Monday to come around and I pray that there are no issues or delays with this. Interest has already grown since I uploaded the release promo video which is brilliant.
On top of the release date we had two signed agreements to sponsor a couple of young talented boxers (Ricky Heavens & Linus Udofia). I'm so excited about working with these guys and their teams, they will wear The Boxing Promoter brand on their fight shorts and I couldn't have found two better fighters to represent the brand, they showcase everything which is great and real about boxing. Both guys will box at York Hall on 23rd September in a cracking show promoted by Steve Goodwin. I had the chance to meet Linus personally at the show I attended at the start of July and Ricky I met up with last week at his gym in Hammersmith, a gym I'm now a member of. Marketing this game will be difficult but I can't honestly think of a more rewarding marketing strategy than sponsoring young fighters, obviously it needs to generate a ROI for me but I'm so confident that it will.
Final testing now, and as I'm writing this I'm just completing the very final pieces of beta testing, everything seems ok so far (fingers crossed).
What next then? What for the rest of the week? In short I'm going to be working tirelessly to drum up even more interest for the game, I'll be speaking to everyone who is anyone in the gaming or boxing industry to see if they could help me out by publishing articles/tweeting/talking about the game. Boxing has an amazing community and the people in it are so friendly and have supported this boxing game so much over the last few months completely off their own backs, because of this as a principle I will not pay for retweets or tweets, I'm now a part of the boxing community myself so will in turn support any other boxing projects.
There is a lot of hard work to come between now and Monday but thankfully I was smart enough to do most of the work in advance.
