Starting this blog today I will be looking to post weekly on updates and thoughts regarding The Boxing Promoter. As a keen fan myself I will also be posting about current topics in the boxing world.
Let's start with why.... Why create The Boxing Promoter? Last August I quit a leadership role in one of the largest global companies to work on personal projects, one of these being the desire to create my own game. I designed quite a few games at the time but kept coming back to one particular idea (A boxing management sim). What attracted me to this is there was a clear and obvious gap in the market. Along with this boxing is my #1 sport so working on something boxing related is a dream come true to me.
So what am I looking to get out of this? The game is free to play and with very few adverts, this means that I'd be very lucky to make much money on the game, the whole game has been funded personally, through commission over a couple of years in sales jobs. My focus right now is to build a good game that members of the boxing community will enjoy. If popular, future versions of The Boxing Promoter will be more focused around making money.
In this blog I will discuss every update and idea for The Boxing Promoter as well as some dilemma's that I'm facing.
One thing to talk about is the progress on the game, I'm not personally developing this game, I've enlisted the help of a Texas based studio to help build the game, which is great because they will be a much much better game than I ever could but it also means that my project is just one of many they are working on. Right now they have their own project (Atlas Empire) which will be moved into Alpha testing next week. Once in Alpha attention can turn back to The Boxing Promoter. That is why there has been no updates recently.
Thank you for reading... Keep an eye out for further posts about The Boxing Promoter and boxing in general.
